After training as a photographer, Sammy Minkoff started out as a “freelance photographer” in Munich in 1970, initially as a sports photographer for the Munich daily newspapers, and later also for local subjects. After some spectacular police stories, the magazines also became aware of him. Sammy Minkoff photographed at times for Stern, Bunte and Quick. For a long time, he focused on international politics as well as sport. He has also written various travel books over the years. Hawaii, New Zealand and Spain are his favorite destinations.
In sport, Sammy Minkoff specialized in skiing and golf, which he accompanied around the world. He attended the Masters 16 times and a total of 60 major tournaments, 19 Olympic Games and 6 soccer World Cups. He accompanied the Alpine World Cup for 40 years.
