Always up to date with the latest trends

This new service provides daily updates on trending topics and the most popular search terms based on search behavior in my-picturemaxx. 

Daily trending topics: Overview of the most frequent search topics. Suitable for news and magazine productions, social media, and online content to quickly identify what's currently capturing public interest.

Most popular search terms: Analysis of search activity over different time periods (48 hours, 7 days, one month). This allows to distinguish between short-term interest and established topics.

NEW: OPTIMIZATION OF MY-OFFERS

Improved overview and faster navigation

The my Offers service has been completely revamped. To improve performance and clarity, the display of offers has been optimized, enabling smoother scrolling. Another new feature is the convenient editing of individual media files within an offer. Actions can be performed directly via the context menu. Drag-and-drop functions make it easier to move media, for example into lightboxes. In addition, a new preview view is available for all media files in an offer.

NEW: ENHANCEMENT OF SERIES

Support for multiple series

Multiple series can now be displayed as a group. To access a series that a media file is assigned to, click the series icon on the thumbnail. If a file is a part of multiple series, use the “Load series” function to retrieve all associated series and display them together.

FURTHER PRACTICAL IMPROVEMENTS

Faster start of preview videos:  videos in my-picturemaxx now start playing faster. (The new instant playback feature is available for all videos that have been prepared for streaming by the respective providers).

Filter option in shopping cart by “trigger”: a new filter option is available for the shopping cart. This allows you to filter out, for example, pending downloads that were not executed for technical reasons or media with original references.

Detailed logging option as needed: the “Advanced logging” option can be enabled for support purposes via the Help menu so that more information is available for analysis.

NEW: PICTURE QUIZ
my Picture Quiz: The new picture quiz in my-picturemaxx is now available. You can access it via Services menu or by clicking the Services button in the top right corner of the application. 
A total of 20 topics are provided in random groups of four, with up to four game rounds available per category. In each round, images are assigned to the corresponding headlines using drag & drop. Correct assignments are highlighted in green and award points, while incorrect assignments are marked in red. For incorrectly placed images, the correct solution can be displayed via mouseover. In addition, the mouseover function indicates the Place of each image.

Technical Note on my Picture Quiz: The quiz images are automatically compiled via media search from the selected category. Each user only sees the images linked to their personal account. The headlines are generated with AI support based on the associated image metadata.

Enhanced functionality for right-click context menu.

Hover effects: Now available for all media actions in the results view as well as for all toolbar elements, providing clearer orientation and improved usability.

Keyword search during language switching: To ensure consistent search results when changing the language, the keyword search is now taken into account during language switching.
File extension (suffix) is retained in statistics downloads​.

NEW: EMPTY STATES FOR MORE CLARITY IN APPLICATION

Orientation with empty views

​In areas without individual content, such as an empty results overview, unused lists or functions that have not yet been used, visual hints with helpful information are now displayed.

NEW: FAST PROCESSING OF MEDIA LISTS

Efficient search of large quantities of media numbers

Long lists of media numbers can simply be copied and pasted into the search. For a better overview, the search window can be enlarged by clicking on the arrow symbol or right-clicking on “Expand search” - this way, all entries remain in view and can be edited directly.

FURTHER PRACTICAL IMPROVEMENTS

Metadata can now be marked and copied: Just click on the copy symbol in the metadata area and the respective content is automatically copied to the clipboard.

Direct dispatch of lightboxes via Outlook: Thanks to the integration of external e-mail services, lightboxes can now be sent directly via Outlook. The corresponding Outlook function can be activated under File > Settings > Network.

Creation of download statistics using templates: Recurring evaluations can now be carried out efficiently and quickly using templates. Admins can find the new download report templates in the administration area under Download overview.

Reduction of login problems: The registration and password reset process has been noticeably simplified.

NEW: LIGHTBOX OVERVIEW

For a quick preview of lightbox content

In the lightbox section you will find the new “Overview” tab at the top left. Click on it to see at what content is hidden in the lightboxes of the current project. Up to four miniature thumbnails are visible per lightbox. Various lightbox operations can be carried out from the overview.

NEW: DASHBOARD MY-ADMIN FOR USERS

Quick overview of personal account settings

The personal my-picturemaxx account settings can now be edited via my-Admin, accessible via the user icon or menu Service > My account.  The new design makes operation much more intuitive and faster.

NEW: REDESIGN OF INVITATION MANAGEMENT
Renewal of the administration topic completed

File Menu > Administration

The third and final stage of the redesign and optimization of “Administration” has been completed. Anyone who has administration rights can access the new administration via the File Menu. 

Invitation management for easy onboarding of new users

When creating users, you can work with user invitations as an alternative to manual configuration, with the following advantages:

• The invitation can be used by you as admin as often as you like
• You can set an expiration date for the invitation code
• The code can be renewed after expiring
• Users can easily “activate” access for themselves

To create a new user this way:

• Create an invitation with the invitation code and the associated information via Administration > Accesses: Invitations (formerly: „Initial Access")
• Select Administration > User > Create User (Create a company-bound user account) and then select Automatic Configuration (Send Invitations).
• The invitation will be send automatically to the appropriate person via email
• The invited person can login to my-picturemaxx using the access data from the email and is immediately activated for the assigned access.

OPTIMIZATIONS
Switching between search language and program language:

From now on, both can be changed seamlessly with a single click, without restarting the program. The switch is located in the top-right corner of the program.

Consideration of Pending Downloads After Restart:

If downloads are still unfinished after closing my-picturemaxx, they will continue to be executed after restarting. From now on, my-picturemaxx will ask you after restarting whether pending downloads should be executed or placed in the shopping cart. Alternatively, open download jobs can be canceled.

Downloads with no time limit:

Large downloads (e.g. of videos) will now continue without a timeout, making it easier to download very large media.

Download overview:

Additional highly useful features for working with the download list are available, including: filtering by time period, filtering by media type, multi-selection of values, a search field for finding a specific media number, display of usage instructions and additional details via mouseover in the list, and more.

Media and web cache separated: 

The media cache can now be cleared separately, allowing login credentials (stored in the web cache) to be retained if needed.
Version display in the installer: 

The Windows installer displays the exact version number.

Management of AD Accounts Optimized:

my-picturemaxx allows login with Active Directory (AD). When you log in for the first time, the corresponding my-picturemaxx user account is specified. From then on, the my-picturemaxx user account is linked to the AD account. For people with full administration rights, the option to disconnect the AD link via my-picturemaxx has been integrated:
Basic data > Account data > “Disconnect user account” button > Save

CORRECTIONS / BUGFIXES

• EXIF-Metadaten in HighRes-Downloads: EXIF data is now reliably attached to HighRes downloads.
• Benutzermenü-Position: The user menu is now reliably displayed even in specific screen configurations.
• macOS-Notch: The filter view on macOS devices no longer overlaps with the notch on MacBooks.

Improved Restart Function: The application can now be restarted directly from within the app more quickly and reliably.

CORRECTIONS / BUGFIXES

Program Startup: Depending on certain settings, the application could occasionally be blocked at startup. This issue no longer occurs.
Display of Categories in Places: The (default) category selection now also affects the display in the Places view. The selection mapping in Places works again.
User Menu / Mouse Click Behaviour: The user menu only closes after clicking the mouse, which makes this operation easier in a few cases.

Stability and Fault Tolerance: Errors in network communication could lead to search limitations. Network errors no longer affect the search in this way.

Keyword search in the IPTC field "Keywords"

The new keyword search (formerly "classifications") is presented in the search results area. The keywords are displayed there as a menu that is easy to access. The selected keywords are applied as search criteria to the IPTC field "Keywords". All selected Channels are used in the keyword search. If the respective media providers have defined specific functions for the keywords in their database systems, these can also be used.

• One or more keywords can be selected/deselected per group.
• The close icon for the group removes the keywords from the search.
• If a group has a large number of entries, all entries of the group are shown via a "Show more" link.
• The search for several selected keywords in a group is performed as an OR search (aerial view OR wide angle).
• Several selected keywords from different groups are AND linked (top view AND starter).

New installation file “msi” for Windows

The installation of my-picturemaxx for Windows is carried out using an msi installer. The installation file now ends with "msi" (previously "exe"). Windows recognizes the installation file and carries out the installation when called. The installation process remains the same for individual users. Installation via software distribution systems (Enterprise IT) is made much easier with msi files.
The switch to msi installation will also bring a change in the version logic: From version 5.4.0, hotfixes are also classified as a new version (third digit of the version number). So a subsequent hotfix version would be classified as 5.4.1. The previously used build numbers will be no longer relevant.

Faster login process

Registration will be faster. A new user interface is provided. The new routine for the starting process will also allow other registration methods in the future.

Users log in as usual with their user data.  The login needs to be confirmed every 30 days.

PDF display of high-resolution media and documents

PDF files are now displayed "inline" in the program, no longer by calling an external program. 
The PDF display can be used for elements in the search result, when a HighRes download took place beforehand. PDF display is then also shown in the context menu.
Furthermore it is helpful in the "my Media Suppliers" area, where profiles and terms and conditions are stored as PDF documents. A click on the "Profile" button opens the supplier profile directly in my-picturemaxx. Buttons for navigation and selection of the display size are available. A download button downloads the document if required.

Automatic switching to dark mode is supported
my-picturemaxx can now follow the dark mode of the respective operating system (automatic dark display, usually according to a schedule). The setting can be made in the "View" menu. The "Automatic" selection changes to the "Dark" color scheme as soon as the system activates dark mode and vice versa.

​OPTIMIZED

Download history (display): Cancelling downloads was only possible for a single download. Cancelling all waiting downloads now works again. The number of simultaneous downloads possible has been increased. Pending downloads no longer block subsequent downloads.

​Similar images (preview display): The search for similar images is now also available in the image list in the preview window. If the provider offers a search for similar images for the selected medium, the symbol for the similarity search appears when the mouse is hovered over it (overlay) and can be carried out accordingly. Windows version information: In Windows Explorer, you can display details about the program file in the "Version" tab. This display is now filled with further current details.

​CORRECTIONS / BUGFIXES

Outlook address import: When managing email addresses, it is again possible to import Outlook addresses for Windows.

Messages (display): If the system is in dark mode and my-picturemaxx is displayed in the light or medium color scheme view, the messages remain easy to read.

Place filter: Any ambiguities regarding the filter or the display of certain places have been resolved by optimizing the display.

Media name (display): There are media that have an "invisible" part in the name. This part is now reliably hidden.

​WITHDRAWN

High-DPI support (Settings): The use of high resolutions for display has been revised. Switching to "Use high-DPI" is no longer necessary.

Contacts import (macOS): The import of MAC addresses (Contacts) is subject to optimization.
